FreshFluxFilmAnthology

FreshFluxFilmAnthology, HD video, 2’18”, 2016

“Dating from the sixties and compiled by George Maciunas (1931-1978, founder of Fluxus), the Fluxfilm Anthology is a document consisting of 37 short films ranging from 10 seconds to 10 minutes in length. Elements of ephemeral environments, these films, some of which were meant to be screened as continuous loops, were shown as part of the events and happenings of the New York avant-garde. Made by the artists to celebrate the ephemeral humor of the Fluxus movement. (RE:Voir)”

My proposal to reproduce the anthology, by either applying to question the film but digital video, “is a reference to art now, to a resurgence of the 1960s and an interest in youth in the art world. There are also references to Hollywood movies and Fluxus Films made in New-York… In FreshFluxFilmAnthology, the New York art scene is sandwiched with Hollywood and Youtube.”
